This morning I woke up to a nice email from my bf/ex-bf...whatever I want to call him. He pretty much said that he needed some time to think and felt that a break would be the best right now. The good thing is that our living situation is not horribly weird. We share an apartment, but we each have our own rooms (for the sake of my grandparents...they still believe no living together or hanky-panky until marriage, so I do it to make them happy). So i am at least happy with the though that if he were to bring a girl home it would not be to my bed. And the weird part is that I am surprisingly okay with all this.
After I woke up/showered and made sure I looked cute before leaving my room (I went with a denim skirt and a coral colored top with a pair of sandals that matched the top perfectly! I also decided to wear my hair up), I walked into the kitchen and the rest of my flat mates were already up and chatting about the their plans for the day. Meg was off for some shopping with two of the girls we went to school with, and everyone else was off to catch some sights.
Aaron and I decided to follow through on our plans to go to the Palace and the National Gallery. And let me say that I had an AMAZING time with him again! We took the tube to where we thought would be close to the palace but realized we were way off. So we took out a map and tried to figure it out. After about ten minutes of staring at the map Aaron looks down at me (he is about 6'2'' and i am whole 5'1'') and says "i'm going to have to get in the map!".
I was a little confused until I saw him put the map down and stand on top of it....he looked at me and gave me a crooked little smile and said "get it, like Joey did on 'Friends'". I could not help by burst out laughing....and of course take a picture. As I was laughing he was just staring at me with that same crooked smile.
"What?", I asked him.
And his response just about made me melt...."nothing, i just love hearing you laugh."
After a little more flirting we finally decided to ask someone where the palace was...we found it and got some awesome pictures of the changing of the guard. I even have one of me hugging the guard as he is super still and serious. We also bothered some other tourists and asked them to take our picture....a super cute one with his arm around me.
After the palace we realized it was lunch time and we were starving. We found a little restaurant overlooking Trafalgar square and had lunch. As we sat and ate our lunch we talked some more. And realized just how much we had a in common. From religion, to politics, to even our childhood. We are both private school brats...ha ha. And I know it is only day two of knowing this guy, but I have to admit I totally crushing.
We eventually made it the National Gallery and got a chance to see some amazing things. On our tube ride back to the flat we were in a pretty crowded cart since we caught rush hour. Since I had nothing to hold on to and it was a pretty bumpy ride i held on to him. And I have to say that it felt really good. You know the feeling when you just fit well with someone else. He put his arm around my back and i just leaned into him. When we got back to the flat I was in my room looking at what I would have to be reading for the days to come when I heard a knock on my door. It was Aaron.
He came to ask me out...i laughed and told him we had been out all day. He looked at me and said, "I am asking you out on a proper date, so I will come back from my room in about two hours, and pick you up, then we will head out to dinner."
I must have had a weird look on my face....because he started stuttering and said..."well if its okay with you."
I laughed and told him I would love to.
So in about and hour and half i am going on a date in London!!! I am so giddy!! I will most definitely have to come back and post how it went! Stuff like this never happens to me.....it feels like i am dreaming...nope not dreaming...i just pinched myself. Now off to get ready for my date!!!!
